Position Description:

Basic Function:

The Flowserve 2.0 Transformation Office includes the Process and Technology Architecture team. The Business Process Architect is responsible for collaborating cross-functionally to design, develop and implement Flowserve’s enterprise business process architecture. This architecture will be utilized across global functions and platforms to enable integrated and streamlined business processes across the enterprise.

Nature and Scope:

  • Responsible for collaborating with global workstreams with respect to process definition, clarification of roles and responsibilities, definition of key data elements, and functional requirements for process automatio• Manage Business Process Architecture (BPA) projects within the Enablement Workstream

  • Support the strategic direction and focus of the Process and Technology Architecture (PTA) team to enable the organization to reap the sustainable benefits of globally optimized process-based capabilities.

  • Support the Business Process Architecture (BPA), which is the collection of policies, procedures and processes supported by the transformation workstreams

  • Gather, analyze, and document requirements and key process deliverables for existing and proposed business processes

  • Conduct process mapping and problem identification sessions to determine current process capabilities and opportunities for improvement

  • Utilize modeling tools to document current and future state business processes; create and maintain complex process and system diagrams as required

  • Network and collaborate with the community of business process stakeholders across the organization to share lessons learned and best practices

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Serves as an enterprise-minded Flowserve 2.0 Transformer

  • Leads by example and role-models Flowserve’s values of People, Integrity, Ownership, Safety, Innovation and Excellence

  • Responsible for coordinating, rationalizing, and integrating business processes

  • Collaborates with Workstream Leaders from the Commercial, Growth, Product Rationalization, Aftermarket, Operations, Supply Chain, G&A, and Health workstreams to ensure:

  • Business processes are fully defined and articulated

  • Business processes are documented in a consistent and easy-to-understand format

  • Inputs and Outputs from individual business processes in one workstream are defined consistently with the matching Output and Inputs from the mating business processes in another workstreamo Roles and Responsibilities defined in the context of an individual business process are consistent and complete considering those defined in other business processes

  • The business rules and policy declarations required for each business process are captured and documented consistent with Flowserve’s policy framework

  • Process automation requirements (i.e. IT functional requirements) for each business process are properly captured and documented, and synchronized with the associated IT enablement program (i.e. system implementation)

Position Requirements:


  • EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree is required, advanced degree a plus.

  • Minimum seven years business process management or related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication, and leadership skills with the ability to quickly build credibility, influence and make recommendations to all levels

  • Ability to lead the organization into a process-driven, team-oriented culture that embraces continuous improvement

  • Organizational skills - ability to multi-task, prioritize, and execute on assigned deliverables

  • Facilitation skills - emphasis on coordinating customer relationships with internal functions/groups; ability to solve issues by coordination across cross-functional areas

  • Strong cross-functional team player

  • Ability to balance multiple tasks with changing priorities

  • Ability to communicate complex findings and ideas in a plain language

  • Excellent structured problem-solving skills

  • A high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • Experience using a Business Process Management tool such as Archimate

  • Business Process Architecture (BAIP) certification a strong plus

  • Up to 25% travel
