Position Description:

  • Process and submit purchase orders to suppliers for assigned parts/categories based on signals from Oracle ERP Advanced Supply Chain Planning module

  • Evaluates requisitions for correctness, selects the best supplier for the order, applies correct pricing, and takes into consideration any quality problems that may have arisen since the last purchase.

  • Maintains current schedule dates on all purchase orders. Manage ASCP exception reports for Cancellation, Reschedule-in and Reschedule-out.

  • Manage RFQ (request for quote) activities for assigned parts/commodities

  • Establishes and maintains competitive pricing for all purchased parts and services. Negotiate supplier pricing. Source and develop new suppliers as needed

  • Reviews PPV data at the beginning of each month for the previous month’s receipts to explain any differences, positive or negative. Support facility and global material savings objectives.

  • Manage all Oracle master data for assigned parts/commodities

  • Partner with Accounts Payable to resolve payment issues

  • Partner with Receiving Department to resolve purchase order issues delaying receipts

  • Reconcile all purchasing issues for assigned parts/categories

  • Manage supplier scorecard for assigned suppliers and coordinate supplier continuous improvement and development initiatives

  • Partner with Global Supply Chain team on key corporate supply chain initiatives.

  • Analyze and interpret data in order to make sound purchasing decisions

  • Manages inventory levels by controlling material receipts, reducing slow moving inventory and processing deviations and substitutions.

  • Develops and maintains relationships with suppliers by hosting supplier visits at FLS and making necessary supplier visits.

  • Enforces safety rules by ensuring that purchased tooling, fixtures, and equipment meet all applicable OSHA regulations. Subcontractors are made aware of FLS’s applicable safety policies and are managed to these policies.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Manufacturing or equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of manufacturing supply chain experience

  • Ability to analyze and determine supplier capability and capacity in order to make sound sourcing decisions

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and standards in order to clearly communicate requirements

  • Ability to lead project teams when required

  • Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office, specifically in Excel

  • Excellent communication, organization, negotiation and prioritization skills

  • Ability to travel 20%

Preferences:

  • Experience in procurement of castings, machined products and fabrications

  • Oracle experience a plus
